“Walking into Il Capuccino for dinner is just like walking into a restaurant in Italy ."

Sophia S., Sag Harbor, NY

Owner Jack Achille Tagliasacchi comes from a family of restaurateurs. Born in Parma, the northern part of Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region known internationally for exceptional cusine, Jack's apprenticeship was divided between Italy, Switzerland and France. In 1954 he went to Argentina and opened his first restaurant in Mendoza bringing the flavors of his city to this far away place. In 1958 he came to the United States and opened a Northern Italian Restaurant in Miami. He later worked as Executive Chef for Julius La Rosa in his popular restaurant in Hollywood, Florida. Jack came to Long Island in 1963 and was Executive Chef at Baron's Cove Inn in Sag Harbor. He purchased that restaurant in 1970 and two years later, with his family, he opened Il Capuccino.

Decorated with classic red and white checkered tablecloths, candle light, and raffia-bound wine bottles, Il Capuccino is the traditional Italian restaurant.
